Child support

Parents have an obligation to support their children. This obligation applies regardless of whether the parents are married and regardless of who has custody. If the parents do not live together, the parent with whom the child does not live is still required to support the child financially.

Child contact

A child has the right to contact with both parents. As parents, you therefore have a joint responsibility to ensure that your child has appropriate contact with both parents. The child has a right to contact with the parent with whom he/she does not live.

Custody and residence

The parent who has custody of a child is responsible for providing the child with food, clothing, housing etc. The parent must protect the child against threats of any kind and take care of all the child’s needs.
